After breakfast, we start a full desert exploration around Merzouga using a 4×4 vehicle. We visit Hassi Labied oasis, known for its traditional irrigation system and green fields. Then we continue to Sriji Lake, a seasonal lake that sometimes attracts desert birds.
Next, we visit Khamlia village, where you will enjoy traditional Gnawa music performed by local people of African origin. After that, we explore the M’ifis mines, an area rich in minerals and fossils.
One of the highlights of the day is visiting a nomadic Berber family living in a tent in the Sahara. You will share mint tea with them and learn about their simple desert life.
In the afternoon, after lunch in Merzouga, you prepare for your camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camel ride takes you deep into the desert, with stops to enjoy the sunset, take photos, and try sandboarding if you like.
