Wake up early to admire a magical sunrise over the Sahara dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. After returning to Merzouga, your driver will be waiting to begin a 4×4 desert exploration tour.
Today, you’ll discover the hidden treasures of the Merzouga region, including vast sand dunes, desert plains, fossil areas, and lush oases. We start with an off-road drive to visit an old eyeliner (kohl) mine, then visit a nomadic family, where you’ll learn about their traditional lifestyle while enjoying a cup of Berber tea.
Next, we head to Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music, where the locals originally from sub-Saharan Africa perform traditional rhythms and dances. After free time for lunch, you’ll take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake (Flamingo Lake), a seasonal lake attracting migratory birds.
