Itinerary

The 6 days from Marrakech to Fes begins with an early pick-up from either the airport or your Marrakech accommodation. The journey then takes you through the magnificent High Atlas mountains and over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, with stops made for stunning views of the surrounding scenery. The tour includes a visit to the Kasbah of Telouat and the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which has been featured in several films and TV series including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. The tour continues to Ouarzazate, also known as "The Gate of the Desert," before finishing the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

The day starts with a delicious breakfast, followed by a visit to Atlas Studios where several renowned movies were filmed. Next, we tour the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. From there, we head southeast to explore the Amridil Kasbah located among palm groves in Skoura. The journey continues to the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May, where the locals showcase their rose-based products such as perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetics.
We then travel through the picturesque Dades valley and make a stop to admire the stunning landscape of the Dades gorges. Our next destination is the Todra Gorges, a breathtaking canyon created by the Todra river as it flowed through the mountains, leaving behind towering red cliffs. There's free time for lunch, and you can take a leisurely walk through the gorges to appreciate the beauty of the area. In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where we switch to camels for a journey across the sandy terrain. A stop is made to marvel at the stunning sunset from the top of a towering dune. We continue on to the luxury desert camp where you can enjoy Berber drumming and dance around the campfire under the open sky filled with stars. Dinner is served, and you'll spend the night in the camp.

Starting the day early in the morning is a must in order to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the middle of the desert. After taking some time for breakfast, you'll return to Merzouga on camels where your driver will be waiting for you. The day will be dedicated to exploring the region of Merzouga, which is home to a multitude of stunning sights such as sand dunes, a wild lake, fossil areas, mines and oases - all ideal locations for outdoor activities.
Our journey in Merzouga will begin by taking an off-road drive to visit an old eyeliner mine. Next, we will pay a visit to the nomads in their handmade woven tents, where you'll have the opportunity to learn about their way of life while enjoying a cup of Berber tea. After that, we'll head to the Khamlia village where you can experience the vibrant Gnaoua music and dance performances. The residents of Khamlia are from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. We'll have some free time for lunch at a restaurant, followed by a walk through a palm grove. Finally, we'll take a short drive to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also known as the flamingos lake. The day will end with dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.

After having breakfast, we venture out of the desert and head to Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a bustling trade hub with a vibrant souk that comes alive on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring the souk, we move on to Erfoud to visit a workshop that specializes in fossilized marble.
As we drive along the Ziz river, we take a break to admire the breathtaking view of the Ziz valley. Lunch will be served in Midelt. Then, we visit the cedar forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can interact with them as you walk through the forest. Our next stop is Ifrane, known for its low temperature, snow, and alpine-style houses, earning it the nickname "the Switzerland of Morocco." Finally, we will take you to your accommodation in Fes.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to embark on a tour of the city. Fes is known as one of Morocco's imperial cities and is a hub of culture and religion.
The tour begins with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a tour of the well-preserved medieval Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will enter the Medina through the Blue gate (Bab Boujloud) and will be guided through the Medina to see the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries, the Quaraouin mosque and university (the oldest university in the world). After leaving the Medina, we will visit the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah. Then, we will drive to an ancient fortress for panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes, before returning to your riad.

Following a breakfast, we'll take you on a brief tour of the city of Fes before driving you to the airport. This concludes your Morocco desert tour from Marrakech.
