Itinerary of 3 days trip from Marrakech to Fes:
The 3-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins with an early pickup from either the airport or your Marrakech accommodation. We'll then journey through the stunning High Atlas mountains and over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, taking breaks along the way to take in the breathtaking views.
Next, we'll visit the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified village has been featured in numerous movies, such as Gladiator and Alexander, as well as the popular TV series Game of Thrones. From there, we'll travel to the "Gate of the Desert" in Ouarzazate, where you'll have some free time for lunch. After that, we'll explore the Rose Valley, passing through the large palm grove in Skoura before reaching Boumalne Dades, where we'll spend the night.
Following breakfast, we'll embark on a drive through the Dades Valley and make a stop to take in the stunning views of the Dades Gorges. Next, we'll visit the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a grand canyon into the mountains, creating a towering red cliff-lined canyon. You'll have time to explore the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. As we continue, we'll drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with a break for lunch along the way.
In the afternoon, we'll arrive at the Merzouga Sahara desert. Here, you'll switch to camels and traverse the sandy landscape, stopping to witness the breathtaking sunset from the top of a high dune. Afterwards, you'll head to a luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy the sounds of Berber drums, dance around the campfire, and gaze at the star-filled sky. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp
On the final day of your 3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour, you'll wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise in the heart of the desert. After some free time for breakfast, you'll return to Merzouga on camels and meet up with your driver. Then, we'll depart the desert and visit the town of Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet and still a bustling trading center, especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, when the souk is especially lively. After exploring the souk in Rissani, we'll head to Erfoud to visit one of the workshops producing fossilized marble.
We'll then drive along the Ziz River and make a stop to take in the panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. After lunch in Midelt, we'll visit the cedar forest, where you'll have the chance to feed the Barbary Macaques while exploring the forest. Our next stop will be Ifrane, known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style houses, earning it the nickname "the Switzerland of Morocco." Finally, we'll drop you off at either the airport or your Fes accommodation, bringing an end to the 3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour.

My boyfriend and I had a great time with our driver and tour guide named Hamid during our tour. Even though it only lasted 3 days, we had a lot of fun and the tour was just as we expected. We are grateful to Hamid for his kindness and assistance, and we'd like to thank the travel agency staff for providing such wonderful trips.
