Camel trek from Marrakech and experience a one-in-a-lifetime journey to the Sahara Desert with All Morocco Tours. This is a 3-day, 2-night tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and returning to Marrakech.

Your guide will pick you up from your location in Marrakech and head towards the Dades Gorge, passing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2260m) in the High Atlas mountains. We will pause for beautiful photos of our colorful landscapes and Berber villages. Along our way, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, famous for films such as The Man Who Would Be King, Jewel of the Nile, Jesus of Nazareth, The Message, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Gladiator.

After your visit and lunch, we will continue driving to the Dades Valley with a stop in Ouarzazate to visit Taourirt Kasbah. Then we will go to the luscious green Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses via the fascinating Palmery of Skoura. We will arrive in Dades Valley in the evening. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Merzouga and the Sahara Desert. Starting with a visit to Dades Gorge to take photos, we will continue driving toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Once there, you will have free time to walk around and then go to Tinjdad town, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we will pass through Erfoud, the Moroccan capital city of fossils, and then we will arrive in Merzouga around 16:00 to start our camel trek.

Before we leave for the desert, the camels will be packed with water, food, blankets, and everything else we will need for the trip. Each person will have their own camel and the ride will take 1.5 hours to reach the inside of the dunes.

After arriving at your own private tent, you can walk on the dunes to watch the beautiful sunset and try sand boarding on the dunes. After seeing the sun set, you will go down back to the camp to enjoy mint tea (what we call Moroccan Berber Whiskey!). Then you will have your meal of delicious Moroccan Berber tagine in the camp. After dinner, the party will start. Local Berber nomad musicians will play traditional music with drums and dancing, and afterwards you will watch the magical sky full of stars and enjoy the peaceful desert. Dinner and overnight in a nomad camp

Tents have various amenities depending on your selection, including beds, electricity, a private bathroom with shower, and air conditioning (please let us know which amenities you would like for an accurate quote).

Awake in the morning to the gentle calling of your guide to see the sun rise over the dunes of the Sahara. We will ride camels back from Desert Camp to Merzouga for breakfast and showers, and then begin our drive back to Marrakech through Rissani and the Draa valley, arriving at Ouarzazate for lunch and to see the local film studios. We will arrive back in Marrakech in the evening, and you will be dropped off at your desired location. Thank you for touring with All Morocco Tours!
